The First Game Pass Games of 2026 Reveal Xbox Is Still Fighting.
Across the gaming landscape, enthusiasts continue to ring the knell for the green team. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a platform few have heard of. Platform-specific outlets have started writing on PS5 topics unprecedentedly. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for the Xbox ecosystem. However, judging purely by the titles headed to the service in 2026, it is apparent that Microsoft still intends to attract subscribers with compelling titles on its premier subscription.
The Immediate Additions
The duo of games that are immediately available at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass soon that's worth getting excited about.
Upcoming Headline Games
Come mid-January, the platform will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with a space-faring criminal escapade. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "the perfect cocktail of terror and combat."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
Yet, the less-hyped additions arriving shortly on the service deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, drops on Jan. 7th — and you should try it even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year might get its hooks in you in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by Rebellion Developments, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, nor are they tentpole Microsoft studios games that justify the service by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — which makes them perfect candidates to get a second chance on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
